Dermatological Emergencies - 06/02/2023 - 31/12/2025

This course aims to provide general practitioners with the skills and knowledge to recognise the dermatological emergencies that they will encounter in their daily practice.

It is delivered in a self-paced online learning mode.

Participants will learn about some of the ‘potentially life threatening’ skin conditions that present as emergencies in hospitals and sometimes, in their early stages of development within the ‘general practice’ environment. A basic knowledge and understanding of some of the more common diseases such as extensive rashes with blistering or purpura present can be invaluable to the GP and their patients. The course covers the major ‘groups’ of these conditions, namely;

  • Drug reactions
  • Vasculitis
  • Urticaria and related conditions and,
  • Neonatal skin disease
