Deadly FPS CPD - IPT & NT is a culturally appropriate FPS CPD training program for health professionals aimed to enhance existing FPS Skills Training and further develop skills in providing interpersonal therapy (IPT) and narrative therapy for patients. 

Provision of holistic healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples can include narrative therapy within the context of General Practice.

Learning objectives
  1. Recognise the fundamental elements and advanced techniques of Interpersonal Therapy and Narrative Therapy 
  2. Incorporate and understand the perspectives and needs of consumers and their carers to obtain improved social emotional and wellbeing 
  3. Understand cultural concepts of social and emotional wellbeing practices and develop skills to provide an appropriate approach and response
  4. Apply and demonstrate the incorporation of culturally appropriate mental health skills training in a hypothetical consultation
  5. Recap on the utilisation of appropriate MBS item numbers relating to the provision of mental health care within the context of general practice
Additional information

Last Module: Six provides a Hypothetical Case where the participant is required to respond to 18 questions providing evidence of enhanced learning knowledge.  

11 x Peer Discussion Forums are throughout the course where they are required to contribute before progressing.
