ACRRM’s Paediatric Emergencies for Rural Generalists course gives you the skills and confidence to manage paediatric emergencies in your rural community in the first few hours of a life-threatening illness or injury. The course was created by Rural Generalists for Rural Generalists.The three-day course has approximately 8 hours of self-directed online learning and two hands-on workshop days. The course meets the standards defined by the Australian Resuscitation Council for Paediatric Advanced Life Support. It also provides practical strategies to identify and prevent deterioration, lead a team, and enhance your ability to manage paediatric emergencies in the rural context. Please note: It is recommended that you register for the course at least 6 weeks before the workshop to ensure that you have enough time to complete the online learning hours.

The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care (PHEC) course is designed to equip you with the essential skills to respond to emergencies in the unpredictable and high-pressure prehospital environment. Delivered by a passionate team of Rural Generalists and pre-hospital specialists, you’ll be supported to translate your existing clinical skills to the prehospital setting within a fun, relaxed and supportive learning environment. The course includes an online component, consisting of 8 hours of self-directed online learning that is followed by a full-day, hand on workshop during which you will apply what you have learnt in the online modules to manage simulated scenarios in an immersive outdoor environment. Through participation in the course, you will gain the confidence and expertise to handle a variety of emergency scenarios outside of traditional healthcare settings.
