Eczema (atopic dermatitis) is a recurring, non-infectious,
inflammatory skin condition affecting one in three Australasians at some stage
throughout their lives. The condition is most common in people with a family
history of an atopic disorder, including asthma or hay fever.1
In this online learning course Dr Jim Muir
(Tele-Dermatologist) discusses the various aspects of eczema including
examination, diagnosis and treatment. Dr Muir walks through some of his relevant
cases to illustrate first hand some of the issues when diagnosing and treating
eczema.
Dr Jim Muir is a dermatologist in private, public hospital
based and 'virtual' practice. He works in Brisbane which boasts one of the
highest rates of skin cancer in Australia.
Although a general dermatologist skin cancer makes up the
majority of his work. He is heavily involved in medical education from medical
students through to specialist trainees.
Jim is the main contributor to the ACRRM online
learning community 'Tele-Derm'.
The course is available for free to all ACRRM members
and subscribers and is accredited for ACRRM Professional Development Program points.
