Learning objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Develop an understanding of the important role of general practice in promoting the public health in rural communities.
  • Develop an understanding of social determinants and how it is related to health inequity.
  • Identify the important social determinants of health and ill health affecting rural communities.
  • Describe the main risk factors of public health concern in Australia.
  • Describe the most important contributors to disease in Australia.
