STI and HIV Care

GPs play a central role in the prevention, diagnosis and management of sexual healthcare in Australia.  In 2021, GPs performed the majority of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and STI (sexually transmitted infections) testing and diagnosed over a third of HIV cases in NSW.

This course aims to build your confidence when faced with a variety of sexual health care scenarios. The course consists of three scenarios, each consisting of a video role-play and interactive activities that complement each other. Some of the resources and services referenced in this learning are from NSW; however, the skills and knowledge are applicable Australia-wide.
