Healthy Beginnings: Infant & Mum Wellbeing Checks

This course equips Rural Generalists with the essential skills and knowledge to conduct infant and maternal wellbeing checks across the first year in a primary care setting. This structured course guides you through age-specific assessments—from systematic physical examination, growth and developmental surveillance, and feeding/sleep review to effective parent-interviewing techniques, maternal mental health screening, and clinical reasoning. Through video demonstrations, interactive case studies, and practical guidance, you’ll gain confidence distinguishing normal variation from conditions requiring further investigation or referral. The course also covers documentation, safety-netting, and care coordination with child and family health services, ensuring you can provide high-quality, culturally safe care in your rural practice.
