This 2 hour online activity is designed to assist general practitioners (GPs) develop skills and strategies to facilitate discussion with women and their partners regarding first trimester screening (FTS). The course is informed by the science of early brain development, current research and practice-based evidence. It provides multiple interactive learning opportunities with current information andamp; resources about young children andamp; their families. Multi-media elements, case studies, guided discussion points andamp; skills-based activities are embedded throughout the modules. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their practice andamp; review how they support children andamp; families through practice questions andamp; exercises. The course aligns with current early years quality frameworks, comprising the National Quality Standard andamp; Framework, the Early Years Learning Framework, the Victorian Early Years Learning andamp; Development Framework andamp; the Framework for School Age Care. Parents’ Evaluation of Developmental Status (PEDS)is an evidence-based tool for detecting and addressing developmental and behavioural problems in children aged from birth to seven years and 11 months.
