This course focuses on the application of dermoscopy for suspicious skin lesions. Participants will acquire knowledge in using the dermatoscope as a tool to assist in the identification and management of malignant non-melanocytic lesions commonly seen in the practice. This course focuses on malignant non-melanocytic skin lesions and explains in detail the use of dermoscopy in diagnosing keratinocyte carcinomas, basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Common patterns and clues in pigmented and non-pigmented BCCs are discussed and demonstrated with numerous clinical and dermoscopic images. Bowen’s disease and SCC are included. The dermatoscopic/histopathologic correlation of skin lesions and the most important differential diagnoses of keratinocyte cancer are outlined. Dermoscopic images and pattern analysis are used throughout the presentation to identify the patterns and clues of non-melanocytic lesions.

This course focuses on the application of dermoscopy for suspicious skin lesions. Participants will acquire knowledge in identifying the variations of acral skin lesions based on parallel patterns. This course explains the variations of acral melanocytic lesions including acral nevus and acral lentiginous melanoma. It outlines the differential diagnoses of some melanosis such as Peutz Jeghers syndrome, Laugier Hunziker Baran syndrome, and drug-induced melanosis. Haematomas, pigmented warts and pigmentation due to paraphenylenediamine (PPDA) or insects are also mentioned. The course then focusses on dermoscopy of acral lesions, divided into regular or irregular parallel-furrow patterns (PFP) and parallel-ridge patterns (PRP). These parallel patterns are used to identify whether an acral skin lesion is melanoma, haematoma, pigmented wart or variants. Images and diagrams are used throughout the course to demonstrate pattern identification clues.

This course focuses on the application of dermoscopy for suspicious skin lesions. Participants will acquire knowledge in the identification and management of melanoma based on ten melanoma-specific structures. This course describes the dermoscopic features that are commonly seen in melanoma and focusses on the patterns and structures associated with melanoma. Most melanomas will reveal at least one of ten melanoma- specific structures. Throughout this course, each of these ten melanoma-specific structures are discussed in detail including numerous dermoscopic images to demonstrate learning. Various dermoscopic tools are discussed. Eight management rules to assist with the detection of melanoma are outlined.

This activity has been designed to enable GPs to identify, manage and support patients with liver disease. As liver disease affects up to 3 of every 10 Australian adults and primary liver cancer is the most rapidly rising cause of cancer death, GPs must be able to identify progressive liver fibrosis and provide early treatment of liver diseases to prevent premature mortality. Liver disease now affects up to 3 of every 10 Australian adults. Primary liver cancer is the most rapidly rising cause of cancer death. Health promotion, prevention, proactive case-finding, early identification of progressive liver fibrosis and early treatment of liver diseases are essential to prevent premature mortality.
