There are 5 chapters in this module for clinicians and health care workers. They provide an overview of: anatomy and physiology of the hearttreatment with Benzathine benzylpenicillin (Bicillin-LA™ in Australia)appropriate injection sites for Bicillin LA,techniques and strategies that may help minimise the pain, stress and inconvenience for people with a history of acute rheumatic fever or rheumatic heart disease. The purpose of the ‘Administering bicillin e-learning package is to empower front-line clinical staff to deliver a measured and holistic approach to secondary prophylaxis by expanding knowledge on site identification, injection technique, and most importantly standardising a research-driven best practice approach to pre, during and post injection to minimize pain, discomfort and maximise injection uptake. This package is developed for any member of staff that is actively involved with patient care and service delivery across Australia in the prevention and management of ARF and RHDEducation package content prepared by the BPG education committee- Committee membership: QLD RHD control program (Chair), RHD Australia, NT RHD control program, WA RHD control program, SA RHD control program, Menzies School of Health Research

This course focuses on the tips and tricks and offer helpful information when planning skin cancer surgery. The course commences with images of the cosmetic subunits, as where possible, skin cancer surgery procedures should remain in the same or adjacent subunits to maximise the best cosmetic healing. Clinical and graphical images are featured to support the teaching. Options for ear repairs are listed. The course stresses the importance of patient history and how some patient conditions may impact skin cancer surgery outcomes. Tips include how to set the ambience to relax both the doctor and patient and the importance of keeping comprehensive patient records including photos. Local anaesthetic, syringes/needle size and scar care are mentioned. Sutures are covered including what sutures to use for what wounds. Planning skin cancer surgery on dual lesions, rhomboid, flaps and grafts are also summarised. Anticoagulation issues and points of skin cancer surgery wisdom are listed.

This course focuses on the application of dermoscopy for suspicious skin lesions. Participants will learn about the general aspects of the dermoscopic examination of pink tumours. It explains the patterns associated with melanocytic and non-melanocytic skin tumours in detail. This course also explains the contact and non-contact dermoscopy methods used when examining skin tumours. Dermoscopic images are used throughout the presentation to identify if the pink tumours are benign or suspicious based on vascular structures, arrangements and clues. The course concludes with management rules to follow in order not to miss amelanotic melanoma.

This course focuses on the application of dermoscopy for suspicious skin lesions. Participants will learn the basics of mucosal lesions including tissue structure. A variety of mucosal lesions are discussed. It explains the clues to use during the clinical and dermoscopic examination together with supporting images. The course then focuses on dermoscopic features of malignant mucosal lesions that are best to be diagnosed in the early stages. It also explains the dermoscopic features of benign mucosal lesions to avoid any unnecessary excisions. Dermoscopic images are used to evaluate the dermoscopic patterns of mucosal lesions and to identify if a lesion is benign or malignant.

Acute rheumatic fever (ARF) is an autoimmune response to an untreated group A streptococcal (Strep A) infection. It can lead to rheumatic heart disease (RHD) which is a chronic, often fatal disease. The number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples affected by ARF and RHD appears to be increasing. Evidence shows that 53% of newly diagnosed cases of RHD in northern Australia have not previously been diagnosed with ARF. Progression from ARF to RHD can be prevented, and outcomes of RHD improved with early identification and treatment of ARF.This free eLearning program support clinical diagnosis of ARF.

The number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples affected by ARF and RHD appears to be increasing. ARF and RHD are preventable. Strep A transmission can be minimised, Strep A infections can be treated to prevent ARF. Progression from ARF to RHD can be prevented, and outcomes of RHD improved with early identification and treatment of ARF. This free elearning program introduces ARF and RHD, and practical strategies for preventing ARF and RHD.

This course focuses on the application of dermoscopy for suspicious skin lesions. Participants will learn about the use of dermoscopic clues and features in diagnosing benign lesions that are often challenging to recognise. The course explains these clues and features in detail including imaging, to improve the recognition of melanocytic and non-melanocytic benign tumours that might stimulate melanoma. The course also outlines the four main simulator scenarios; melanoma-like nevi, melanoma-like seborrheic keratosis, spitzoid-looking lesions and nevi with special features. Detailed information on each of these areas include studies, dermoscopic images and analysis of features to assist with diagnosis.

This course focuses on the application of dermoscopy for suspicious skin lesions. Participants will learn about the diagnosis of nail pigmentation with dermoscopy. Dermoscopic images of nail pigmentation are used throughout the presentation to establish differential diagnoses between melanoma and other conditions. Nail unit subungal haemorrhage, lentigo and lentiginosis, drug induced, ethnic type and trauma induced pigmentation are outlined. The course explains the use of dermoscopic clues, patterns and clinical algorithms to diagnose melanonychia striata longitudinal and to determine if a biopsy is needed.

This course focuses on the application of dermoscopy for suspicious skin lesions. Participants will learn about the dermatoscopic clues whilst diagnosing and managing rare, complex syndrome skin tumours. A multidisciplinary approach is the key to managing, diagnosing and treating rare skin tumours. The course discusses the various types of rare skin tumours such as tumours of fibrous tissue, merkel cell carcinoma, angiosarcoma, adnexal tumours and sebaceous tumours with the help of dermoscopic images. The course also explains in detail, the dermoscopic clues, patterns and management of each of these rare skin tumours.
