Echocardiography (ECHO) is a vital tool in critical care medicine for the rapid assessment of patients presenting with shock, hypotension, syncope, chest pain, shortness of breath, and peri-operative cardiac dysfunction. It is also essential for evaluating cardiac function, volume status, and guiding fluid management in critically ill patients. Despite its importance, many critical care physicians lack formal training and confidence in performing and interpreting bedside ECHO. Skills in image acquisition, quantitative measurements, assessment of ventricular function, and evaluation of valvular pathology are often inconsistent due to limited access to structured education and supervised practice. This course addresses this gap through a structured learning pathway that includes: Online pre-learning to establish core theoretical knowledge. Hands-on practical training focused on image acquisition, measurements, ventricular function, valvular assessment, and fluid evaluation. Small-group case-based discussions to consolidate interpretation skills and clinical application. By improving echocardiographic competence, this course aims to enhance clinical decision-making and patient outcomes in the critical care setting.

Medical records are integral to good quality patient care. They enable continuity of care, reduce errors, and improve outcomes. This interactive online activity helps doctors and practice managers to create good quality medical records and deal with medical documentation issues such as release to third parties, secure storage of personal information, retention of records, and access to records when leaving a group practice. The activity uses case scenarios and quiz questions. Take home (downloadable) information is supplied. The online activity focusses on areas identified as being problematic for doctors in recent court and medical board findings, the medical literature, feedback at education activities, and a medical indemnity insurer’s advice requests and claims and complaints experience.

This full-day, face-to-face Advanced Lung Cancer Screening (ALCS) masterclass will bring together an expert faculty to explore contemporary management of oncogene-driven non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), with a focus on HER2-mutated disease and treatment sequencing. The program combines plenary presentations with case-based workshops and facilitated discussions to support translation of emerging evidence into clinical practice. Participants will review testing pathways, multidisciplinary team (MDT) decision-making, and management of complex cases, including disease progression, resistance patterns, and CNS involvement. Through interactive case discussions, clinicians will apply sequencing principles across different oncogene-driven subtypes within the Australian context. Pre-reading will orient participants to key concepts, while post-event reflective activities and a structured “find the five” exercise will support application of learning to practice. The program is designed to strengthen clinical confidence, support decision-making in real-world settings, and improve patient outcomes.
