This aim of this course, taught by a team with extensive experience, is to enable participants to progress to lead and provide medical cover on dive expeditions. This course will teach participants decompression illness, dangerous marine animals, how to deal with trauma and life threatening emergencies, finding out about marine envenomation, island survival, expedition treatment of drowning and common medical injuries on diving expeditions in this unique environment.

ETM is 3-day medical short course (similar to APLS, EMST) that covers the reception and resuscitation of adult major trauma patients. The course involves short, focused lectures, hands on practical skill training, small group interactive sessions and simulation/scenarios. There is an interactive, case based "ask the expert" session with a local trauma expert, which varies from course to course.Assessment is summative in the form of a pre and post course MCQ, and two OSCE style skill stations, as well as formative, with debriefing and feedback given after each scenario, and during the small group interactive sessions and procedure workshops.Participants in the ANZCA and FPM CPD program may claim ETM Course as a Major Haemorrhage Emergency Response Activity in their CPD portfolio.

This is a blended training program with an online and face-to-face workshop component. It is aimed at medical practitioners who are currently very experienced in IUD insertions and are interested in becoming a trainer for other doctors in IUD insertion. The course consists of an interactive online training program which needs to be completed prior to the practical workshop. The workshop will involve discussing practical considerations required for teaching IUD insertion in general practice. On completion of the theory component, IUD insertion trainers will go on to train another medical practitioner in IUD insertion to receive full certification from SHINE SA. Relevant guidelines and a comprehensive training log will be provided to document the trainees IUD insertion experience as well as provide proof of training. Clinical training can be undertaken either in the trainer’s practice or the trainee’s practice. SHINE SA does not facilitate clinical training for this course. On submission of an IUD log trainees will be issued with a certificate of completion of IUD Insertion training. The IUD trainer will also receive a certificate of completion and can go on to supervise the clinical component of IUD insertion under the SHINE SA training program.

Critical Care Airway Management is a 2-day, practical, hands-on course covering advanced airway management when the going gets tough. CCAM is not about the routine patient in the anaesthetic room, this course will teach you the skills and mindset for when the airway is difficult, the patient sick, the environment challenging, or all of the above. The CCAM Course is designed fortrainees, specialists and senior nursesin Intensive Care, Anaesthesia, Emergency,Pre-Hospital and Rural/Remote Medicine, andparamedics.
