The ‘Drivetime Medical’ programme is a regular audio CD programme that is distributed on a complimentary basis to over 22,500 general practitioners throughout Australia via a CD mailer. All programmes are available for subscribers to listen via Podcast, on-line or to download via our website and are accompanied by a range of web resources including PBS indications, product information and references to all articles cited. Interviews are evidence based and presented by Dr Ginni Mansberg/Dr Brad McKay and leading Australian and International Key Opinion Leaders. GPs listen to an audio CD (~70 mins / edition) and then complete an online questionnaire relating to the interviews featured. This online course focuses on bleeding risk assessment for patients undergoing elective surgical procedures.The areas covered include:the risk and possible extent of blood loss associated with a procedurethe importance of determining patient and family history of abnormal bleedingpreoperative identification of disorders that may affect haemostasisthe need to accurately report the medication history.This course is aimed at health care professionals caring for elective surgical patients, particularly trainee medical officers, surgical and anaesthetic registrars, general practitioners and nurses working in preoperative clinics, surgical wards and operating theatres.The course is based on Patient Blood Management Guidelines: Module 2 Perioperative and the Preoperative Bleeding Risk Assessment and Intervention Resource: Guidance for Australian Health Providers and provides evidence-based recommendations, practice points and expert opinions.Estimated time to complete the course: 90 minutes.

Case Based Discussion enrolmentEnsure that you have read the CBD section of the Fellowship Assessment Handbook for guidance on Case requirements.To complete your enrolment, you will be required to submit:12 compliant Cases* including a Case Cover PageCases Summary formCommunity Profile - for each community where cases are sourced from* NB: Each Case is saved as a single PDF file of 5mb or lessBy enrolling into this assessment, I am confirming the following:Cases include clinical notes with a minimum of two (2) and maximum of four (4) consultations for each case with clear demonstration that I am primarily managing the patient.Case page limit does not exceed 20 - 30 pages per case.Cases are at least medium level complexity.Cases are representative across the curriculum, with no more than three from one area except for at least two (2) mental health cases.Cases are de-identified as per the CBD requirements.Permission from my employer to submit the cases has been obtained and is recorded on the Cases Summary Form.
