The Spirometry Training Course is a 6-hour interactive workshop, Australia's first truly national spirometry training for GPs. The workshop provides comprehensive training in the application, measurement and interpretation of expiratory spirometry in general practice, including hands-on components to allow participants to apply their new knowledge in a practical setting. Workshops are presented by health professional peer educators from our team of experts, usually one GP and one respiratory scientist. Suitably qualified demonstrators may also be involved to ensure a maximum ratio of participants to educators of 5:1 during the practical components. The workshop content follows ANZSRS guidelines for Spiromety Training Courses.

This symposium brings together clinicians across primary, secondary and tertiary maternity care to strengthen a coordinated, evidence‑based approach to preventing preterm and early‑term birth. These early births are major contributors to neonatal morbidity and long‑term developmental impacts, and reducing avoidable early birth requires shared responsibility, consistent practice, and strong interprofessional collaboration. The symposium equips clinicians with practical, contemporary evidence and supports alignment of prevention strategies across diverse settings. It is designed for all professionals involved in maternity care, including Obstetricians, General Practitioners, Medical Officers, Aboriginal Health Workers, Midwives, Nurses and Sonographers. The program recognises the complementary role each profession plays in identifying risk factors, delivering prevention interventions, providing culturally responsive and safe care, and supporting timely referral and escalation. By strengthening partnerships across disciplines, the symposium aims to improve outcomes for women, babies and families.
