This audit guides the medical practitioner to compare and measure patient management prior to and after applying evidence-based best practice guidelines and course learning to patient management. Participants will measure, review and enhance their current practice for patients with skin cancer lesions requiring surgery. Clinical management will be matched to best practice to identify areas where patient management may be improved. Participants are asked to demonstrate their application of knowledge from the course, best practice and identified outcome measurement improvement to their clinical management of five patients with skin lesions requiring more complex surgical procedures. Their selected patient cases are peer reviewed by a subject matter expert and participants are asked to review their performance based on the peer review report and their course learning This audit together with the course modules combine to be the HealthCert Professional Diploma of Skin Cancer Surgery.

In this course, the process of skin aging is examined commencing with the function of the skin and what happens to skin structure as the skin ages, including skin of colour. Intrinsic and extrinsic factors that cause the skin to age are discussed. Assessment tools including the Fitzpatrick skin types, Glogau classification, Johnson’s wrinkle scale, Weiss’s, Merz scales and Lever are outlined. Quizzes are presented to encourage participants to familiarise with the most common assessment tools. Grading acne severity scales and Roberts hyper-pigmentation and scarring severity scales are discussed in detail. Skin analysers are introduced as a potential skin assessment tool. The content then moves to treatment planning information including prevention, medical, aesthetic and cosmeceutical options. This course is evidence-based, demonstrates best practice and is regularly updated.

This course focuses on the application of dermoscopy for suspicious skin lesions. Participants will learn about the dermoscopic clues used to identify melanomas that are difficult to diagnose clinically because of their morphology. It highlights the use of dermoscopy to improve the pattern recognition of various types of melanomas including nodular, desmoplastic, amelanotic, epidermotropic metastatic, nevoid, verrucous and melanomas on sun-damaged skin. The dermoscopic images, features and methods to safely deal with these melanomas are discussed in detail throughout this course.

This course focuses on the application of dermoscopy for suspicious skin lesions. Participants will learn about the significance of integrating dermoscopy to assist in identifying inflammatory diseases. Common dermatological conditions including psoriasis, dermatitis, lichen planus, pityriasis rosacea, acne, dermatitis, lupus, fungoides, mites, scabies, dermatoses, lichen sclerosus and vitiligo are discussed and supported by dermoscopic imaging, charts and research papers. The parameters and criteria such as vessels morphology, vessel distribution, scale colour, scale distribution, follicular disturbances and specific clues that need to be evaluated before reaching a diagnosis are described. Dermoscopic images are used throughout the presentation to discuss these parameters and to assist in differentiating between inflammatory and infectious skin diseases.

The Certificate in Clinical Teaching and Supervision: General Practice is designed to develop and consolidate GP's knowledge, skills and confidence in their role as clinical supervisors to medical students, junior medical officers, GP registrars and other health professionals. There are 11 learning modules, each composed of two parts (A and B). The learning modules are designed to be 'stackable' according to individual preference and learning needs. One CORE module (Introduction to Clinical Teaching) plus any four SELECTIVE modules with pre-reading and completion of the associated assessment tasks are required for award of the full Certificate. Each full module including the pre-reading and associated assessment tasks takes around 4 hours to complete. The modules are accessible through the online learning platform 'CANVA' and consists of a power point presentation that includes links to videos, optional extension reading and medical education web pages. There are alsoregular pauses for reflection or small group discussion on case scenarios and the application of learning theories to practice for reinforced learning. All of the learning modules have been recently written by practising GP educators from the University of Newcastle, are practical based and very relevant for GP's currently involved in or wishing to undertake clinical teaching and supervision.
