Sleep disturbance is one of the most common yet under-recognised comorbidities in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This activity provides GPs with a structured framework to evaluate, measure, and improve their approach to identifying and managing sleep-related difficulties in children and adolescents with ADHD. Using the Plan–Do–Study–Act (PDSA) model, participants will complete a clinical audit involving five patients, assessing current practice, applying evidence-based guidelines, and implementing actionable changes to enhance patient care. The course integrates reflective learning and data-driven analysis to support measurable improvements in clinical outcomes.Through this process, GPs strengthen their ability to differentiate between insomnia and sleep dissatisfaction, identify behavioural and pharmacological contributors to poor sleep, and apply best-practice strategies to optimise management. This clinical audit fosters professional growth, promotes continuous quality improvement, and enhances GP confidence in managing sleep dysfunction in patients with ADHD.

This educational event aims to equip general practitioners with the knowledge and practical strategies to better identify and manage dry eye disease (DED), a prevalent and often overlooked condition. The session will cover the pathophysiology of DED, distinguishing between its subtypes—evaporative and aqueous deficient—by examining the layers of the tear film and their clinical implications. The event will highlight the importance of recognising high-risk populations such as post-surgical, postmenopausal, and autoimmune patients, distinguishing DED from other common eye conditions like conjunctivitis. DED symptoms, including dryness, burning, grittiness, and even significant pain, will be explored with an emphasis on the importance of follow-up and referral where necessary. Practical treatment strategies, such as artificial tears for lubrication, supplementation, and lipid stabilisation will be addressed alongside the criteria for escalating care or referring to an optometrist for further assessment, such as slit lamp examinations. The session will conclude with a focus on effective referrals and collaborative care to optimise patient outcomes.
