AHPRA’s Advertising Guidelines is an online education course for health practitioners, in relation to their obligations when advertising their practice or a health service. The education is important as there is a higher standard applied to health advertising than other types of advertising. A breach of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law could result in health practitioners losing their registration, major fines, and even being charged with a criminal offence – so it pays to make sure the way you advertise is compliant. The course outlines how you can (and can’t) advertise, and makes practitioners aware of the potential risks. The presenter’s experience as a former officer at AHPRA, together with his experience as a lawyer acting for health practitioners, means that he is in a particularly unique position to provide practical education that focuses on the sorts of issues that often arise in this space. At the end of the course, health practitioners should be in a great position to know how to advertise in a compliant way, and minimise the chances that a regulator will become interested. They will also learn how the regulators tend to regulate this area, and what the potential outcomes are if there is a breach.

Breaking Sleep Barriers: New Frontiers in Apnoea Management is a 90-minute CPD-accredited masterclass designed to equip general practitioners and specialist clinicians with the tools to better identify and manage obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) across diverse patient presentations. Sleep disturbance remains one of the most under-recognised contributors to chronic disease burden in Australia, with OSA often misattributed or overlooked—particularly in patients without classic risk factors. This program explores practical diagnostic approaches, the limitations of current CPAP-centred care, and the clinical relevance of emerging therapeutic options, including metabolic interventions and pharmacological treatments. Through evidence-based discussion and real-world case examples, faculty will provide a framework for recognising atypical presentations, refining referral strategies, and enhancing multidisciplinary coordination. Participants will consolidate learning via a structured five-patient review, ensuring translation of knowledge into clinical action and alignment with 2025 CPD standards across education, performance review, and outcome measurement.

The “RA-ILD: Guidelines, Gaps andamp; Ground Truths” program explores the current practices, perceptions, and barriers among rheumatologists and respiratory physicians regarding the early identification and management of rheumatoid arthritis-associated interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD). With RA-ILD a leading cause of mortality in RA patients, this program invites participants to reflect on clinical behaviours, interspecialty collaboration, and the applicability of the 2023 ACR/CHEST guidelines in the Australian context. Participants complete a structured survey that assesses current screening behaviours, referral patterns, multidisciplinary engagement, and perceived challenges to guideline implementation. The results will inform a follow-up interactive masterclass to compare practices, address implementation gaps, and foster discussion around practical strategies for improving early detection and equitable care delivery. The program supports reflective practice and contributes to the national conversation on multidisciplinary models of care for SARD-ILD. Participants will also complete a post-event activity to reflect on how peer comparison and guideline discussions will inform future clinical decisions.
