Work in a pivotal role in a respected
Emergency Department with a focus on high-quality patient care and clinical
leadership As an
Emergency Department Consultant at Mount Gambier Hospital, you will deliver
clinical services of the highest standard, ensuring exceptional care for
patients in the Emergency Department. Your role will involve leading a
multidisciplinary team, supporting inpatients during clinical deterioration, and
actively participating in teaching, quality management, and research
activities. Key Responsibilities: - Clinical
Excellence: Provide outstanding clinical services to Emergency Department
patients, demonstrating leadership and a commitment to a multidisciplinary
approach to patient care.
- Crisis
Management: Deliver expert medical care for inpatients experiencing clinical
deterioration after hours, including Code Blue and Code Black
situations.
- Professional Standards: Adhere to Regional, Hospital, and
departmental policy manuals and documents, and maintain alignment with the
standards of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine.
- Education
and Training: Engage actively in the teaching of trainee medical officers,
interns, medical students, and where applicable, nursing and allied health
professionals.
- Quality and
Safety: Participate in clinical audits, quality, safety, and clinical risk
management activities to continually improve patient care standards.
- Research
and Development: Contribute to research initiatives and continuous medical
education to advance knowledge and practices in Emergency
Medicine.
Qualifications
Bachelor of
Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist
Qualifications and registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as Medical
Practitioner with Specialist registration.
