Deliver
holistic care to rural communities across North West, Central West, and Far
North Queensland. As a fly-in-fly-out GP, you’ll be the local doctor for many,
offering comprehensive care across the lifespan. You'll manage both acute and
chronic conditions in a dynamic, deeply rewarding setting. Our

Our rosters
Across both specialties, the RFDS
offers flexible full-time and part-time positions to suit your lifestyle and
professional goals. Doctors can choose full-time shift patterns of 16 shifts per
month or opt for fractional arrangements such as week-on/week-off, one week
every four weeks, or even one week every eight weeks (aeromedical only).
Additional flexibility is available for live-in roles. Our Primary Health Care
team works Monday to Friday during the day, while our Aeromedical team covers a
mix of day and night shifts. For those in FIFO roles, travel days are included
as paid time. Who are we

We’re looking
for doctors with: - AHPRA registration as a Medical
Practitioner
- Fellowship with ACEM, ACRRM, ANZCA, CICM, or RACGP
(Senior Registrars encouraged to apply)
- Minimum 5 years post-graduate
experience
- Experience in critical care
(Emergency, Anaesthetics, ICU, Paediatrics)
- At least 6 months in:
- Emergency Medicine
- Anaesthetics
- Intensive
Care
- Experience in Paediatrics or basic
Obstetrics
- Aeromedical retrieval experience
(ideal, but not essential)
RFDS Medical Officers – Primary
Health Care (PHC)
We’re looking for doctors with: - AHPRA registration as a Medical
Practitioner
- Fellowship with RACGP or ACRRM (Senior
Registrars encouraged to apply)
- 5–7 years of relevant clinical experience
Strong knowledge of primary health care and
emergency medicine - Ability to meet PHC credentialing
requirements
- Experience in rural/remote health
and emergency care
- Cultural awareness, especially
regarding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
perspectives

Registrar Training Opportunities RFDS supports
training toward Fellowship with RACGP and ACRRM. Registrars will work with
their Medical Lead to create a training plan that ensures a broad range of
learning and hands-on experience. For more details on training positions with

Successful candidates may be required to
complete a pre-employment medical assessment, including drug and alcohol
testing. A current, unrestricted Australian driver’s licence and the ability to
obtain an ASIC card are essential. Candidates must also complete the RFDS and
Queensland Health credentialing process and provide certified copies of
qualifications/registrations, along with evidence of vaccination or immunity
against vaccine-preventable diseases (VPD). For
