the Woonooroonan National Park and boat access to Family Islands and

About Innisfail
Hospital
The Hospital had a major rebuild and
renovation just prior to 2000. The Friends of the Hospital Foundation have
generously supported acquisition of state-of-the-art resuscitation and critical
care equipment for the Emergency Room, High Dependency Unit and Operating
Theatre
Innisfail Hospital is an Accredited Teaching
Hospital of James Cook University.We are an accredited ACRMM training facility
for core generalist training in anaesthesia, obstetrics and paediatrics. We can
also provide shared AST ED training in collaboration with Cairns Hospital ED.
Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service has
nurtured Rural Generalist Trainees since the pathway inception in 2007. Advanced
Specialist Training (AST) positions are available within Cairns Hospital and the
Rural Facilities giving medical officers the opportunity to enhance clinical
practice through 12 months of focused, specialised training in preparation to
transition to Senior roles within rural communities of the
CHHHS.
