Remuneration
value up to $498,497 p.a. comprising base salary between $251,527 p.a. -
$266,677 p.a. (L25-L27) or remuneration value up to $455,021 p.a. comprising
base salary between $210,332 p.a. - $244,313 p.a. (L18-L24); or remuneration
value up to $398,614 p.a. comprising base salary between $182,106 p.a. -
$204,910 p.a. (L13-L17); employer superannuation contribution (up to 12.75%),
annual leave loading (17.5%) for 4 weeks leave, attraction and retention
incentive allowance, professional development allowance, professional
development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., professional indemnity cover, plus overtime

a Temporary Full-Time basis.

is located within the township of Sarina,
30 minutes-drive south of Mackay, making it the closest located rural facility
to Mackay Base Hospital. The Sarina Hospital services the wider community
that encompasses Sarina. Sarina Hospital provides admitted and
non-admitted services, with inpatients, 24-hour Emergency Department,
Outpatients Clinics and Community Services.

Your
Opportunity
To provide high
quality multidisciplinary clinical services in accordance with Sarina
Hospital’s objectives, to public inpatients, outpatients and accident and
emergency cases of the Sarina Hospital and Primary Health Care Centre.
Your role - Fulfil the responsibilities of this
role in accordance with the Queensland Public Service and the Mackay HHS
Values as outlined above and here.
- To ensure a high quality of clinical
practice at the Sarina Hospital through participation in the development and
maintenance of quality enhancement and improvement strategies.
- Participation in peer review,
clinical audits, the use of standard treatment protocols and guidelines, and
electronic information systems.
- Co-ordination of public health
initiatives with a population focus in areas such as Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander and South Sea Islanders health, sexual health, health
promotion and alcohol and drug prevention.
- To develop and maintain effective
communication and working relationships within the hospital, visiting
personnel and other relevant Queensland Health work units, the Sarina
community and other stakeholders in the health service delivery at Sarina.
- Provide evidence-based best practice
will be adhered to using tools such as Primary Clinical Care Manual and
Chronic Disease Management Guidelines as they are developed and approved by
Queensland Health.
- Demonstrated ability to provide
assistance and support to the Senior Medical Officer and actively participate
in the on-call and after hour’s roster for the hospital.
- Conduct ward round for inpatients
and attend outpatients daily embracing a cohesive partnership with other
Medical Officers and the multidisciplinary team.
- Conduct investigations and prepare
reports and other documentation including those concerned with complaints by
patients and other relevant practices.
- Ensure comprehensive, accurate and
concise medical records are maintained within a timely manner for all
patients.
- Participate in educational
activities for all levels of staff within the hospital and in accordance to
ensure you maintain the appropriate skills and qualifications.
- Attend meetings with staff to ensure
planning policy matters at the hospital are supported by medical staff. This
position works collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health care
structure.
- Perform Line Manager requirements
for the Sarina Hospital Medical Team, including all rostering, payroll and
supervision requirements.
