We’re seeking experienced and passionate GP VMOs to join sites across regional and remote Tasmania, including Smithton, St Marys, Scottsdale, Queenstown, Campbelltown, Bridport, Flinders Island, and King Island. Each site offers a unique lifestyle—from mountain villages to island living—while allowing you to practice true Rural Generalism.

Provide a full scope of care: from GP consults and emergency medicine to inpatient care and community health initiatives.

  • Smithton – Ocean breeze meets dairy country
  • St Marys – Quiet village beneath the mountains
  • St Helens – East coast gem with stunning beaches and seafood
  • Scottsdale – Near vineyards and MTB trails Queenstown – Historic town with wilderness charm
  • Campbell town – Classic Tasmanian midlands with rich history
  • Bridport – Seaside living with beaches and golf courses
  • Flinders & King Island – Island life with unmatched community spirit

💼 What You'll Do:

  • Comprehensive GP services
  • ED and inpatient care (VMO work)
  • Chronic disease and preventative care
  • Community health projects

🕒 Flexible Rosters to Suit You:

Choose from flexible rotations (e.g. 2 weeks on/off) or full-time rural relocation. We’ll work with your ideal schedule.

💰 Attractive Incentives:

  • Up to $100K GP Incentive Package over 5 years
  • Relocation + accommodation support
  • Access to GP NOW Rapid Response Team

🎓 Requirements:

  • FRACGP/FACRRM or working towards it
  • ED/inpatient experience
  • Passion for rural medicine
