Opportunity The Clinical Director Retrieval Services is the medical head of
aeromedical retrieval services in RFDS SA/NT. The role supports the Executive
General Manager of Medical and Retrieval Services and leads a team of doctors in
the achievement of our strategic goals, ensuring the delivery of 24/7 high
quality aeromedical clinical care and best practice clinical governance aligned
to NSQHS standards. The role is also responsible for the development,
implementation and delivery of alternative and innovative service delivery
methodologies. You’ll come to work knowing that your efforts are enabling our
organisation to remain at the forefront of rural and remote health care delivery
and advocacy. Importantly, you’re also helping ensure our organisation is
efficient, effective and sustainable now and in the future. We believe our people – all of our people –
keep the Royal Flying Doctor Service flying. About You To be successful in this role you will be a doctor with extensive
experience in aeromedical retrieval. You will have: - Unrestricted or appropriate Specialist Medical Practitioner registration with AHPRA
- Fellowship with FACEM, FANZCA, FIMC (UK) or FRACGP/FACRRM RGA
- Minimum three years’ experience in Anaesthesia and/ or Emergency medicine
- Minimum two years’ training in a critical care environment
- Experience in procedural skills, obstetrics, resuscitation and paediatrics
- A good understanding of and appreciation for primary healthcare, allied healthcare and your nursing colleagues
- Experience supervising and mentoring consultants, registrars and medical students
- Highly developed leadership, management and communication skills
Ideally, you will also have experience in remote area medicine, along
with a well-developed understanding of rural and remote Australia and the
challenges of providing first class healthcare within these
