The
Emergency Department at Mackay Base Hospital have an opportunity for a Senior
House Officer to join their team on a Temporary Full-Time basis (76 hrs p.f.).

The
Emergency Department has 21 Acute bays that include 2 Resus Bays and 4 High
Dependency bays, 12 Consult bays & a 14 bed Short Stay Unit. It is accredited for Specialist Fellowship
Training by ACEM, ACRRM Advanced Skills Training (AST), RACGP Core Generalist
Training (CGT).
We
are an Adult/Mixed Non-Major Referral Base Emergency Department for Mackay
Hospital & Health service, currently Accredited as a Tier 3 Training Site
for 12 Months of Training in Emergency Medicine.
We
also offer foundational, intermediate and Advanced Associateship ACEM Training
programs in Emergency Medicine. There are opportunities for Non-ED Terms in
Anaesthetics, ICU and other Departments. There are ample learning opportunities for point of care ultrasound
through our FACEM cohort.
Your opportunity
A Senior House Officer in ED is a
medical practitioner in the second or subsequent year of practical experience
after eligibility for full registration as a medical practitioner. This role is required to participate in the
provision, development and maintenance of an effective, efficient and equitable
clinical service to hospital clients; and contribute to the continual
improvement of medical education and dissemination of knowledge to staff and
clients.
