The Mackay Base
Hospital have opportunities available for a Principal House Officer
or Registrar to join their Emergency Department on
a Temporary Full-Time basis (76hrs p.f.)
Your
opportunity
A Principal
House Officer or Registrar is a medical practitioner in fourth
or subsequent year of practical experience after eligibility for full
registration as a medical practitioner. This role
is required to participate in the
provision, development and maintenance of an
effective, efficient and equitable clinical service to
hospital clients; and contribute to the continual improvement of medical
education and dissemination of knowledge to staff and clients.
About the
Team
The Emergency
Department has 21 Acute bays that include 2 Resus Bays and 4 High Dependency
bays, 12 Consult bays and a 14 bed Short Stay Unit. The Department is
accredited for Specialist Fellowship Training by ACEM, ACRRM Advanced Skills
Training (AST), and RACGP Core Generalist Training (CGT).
We are an
Adult/Mixed Non-Major Referral Base Emergency Department for Mackay Hospital
& Health service, currently Accredited as a Tier 3 Training Site for 12
Months of Training in Emergency Medicine. We also offer foundational,
intermediate and Advanced Associateship ACEM Training programs in Emergency
Medicine. There are opportunities for Non-ED Terms in
Anaesthetics, ICU and other Departments. There are ample learning
opportunities for point-of-care ultrasound through our FACEM cohort.
