This position can be up to 1.0 FTE but 0.5 FTE will be preserved to be non clinical to be able to focus on the Administrative duties of an effective medical Superintendent. A non clinical applicant will be considered for the role up to 0.5 FTE only.

Townsville HHS Rural Hospitals Service Group is looking for a fellow of either:

  • The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or equivalent Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP-RG/ FARGP)  
    OR
  • Royal Australian College of Medical administrators (RACMA)
  • Other specialist qualifications with Rural Experience and Medical Administration Experience would be considered for the role

This position has direct line management responsibility for:
8.0 FTE Senior Medical Officers
5.0 FTE Principal house officers
1.0 FTE Intern position.

Competitive salary and benefits: The below information relates to the Approximate Remuneration Package and additional benefits (full-time role) Medical Officers Certified Agreement (No.7) (MOCA7).
Remuneration for part-time roles will be calculated on a pro rata basis
Base Salary range: $216,643 to $274,678 p.a. - (L18 - L27) with multiple allowances bringing total estimated renumeration to $403,345-$503 878 Pro Rata. 
-4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
-12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Travel and Appointment expenses may be eligible for reimbursement up to $20,000 as per Directive 11/11. 

The Role reports  both operationally and professionally the by the Townsville Hospital and Health Service Rural Hospitals Service Group Medical Director , a rural generalist themselves.
