Rural Generalist The Northern Territory offers one of Australia's most distinctive and rewarding environments for Rural Generalist Trainees. Across the Northern
Territory’s Regions – Barkly, Big Rivers, Central Australia, East Arnhem, and
the Top End — you will gain an extraordinary breadth of clinical experience,
deep community connection, and the kind of procedural confidence that can only
come from working where it matters most. Working in hospital and community-based
settings delivering comprehensive healthcare while progressing toward your
chosen advanced skill, independent practice and obtaining Fellowship. In
addition, you will participate in after-hours and/or remote clinic rosters and
complete outstanding vocational training requirements while balancing direct
clinical responsibilities. Travel by small aircraft and overnight stays will be
required to reach some work locations. Applicants will be assessed against each
designation (RGT and SRTG) and appointments will be made based on relevant
experience. To be successful you require eligibility
for general and/or specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia
and prior to commencement of employment, be a vocational rural generalist
trainee with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) or
the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). Appointment at the
senior category requires you to hold or be close to holding Fellowship with
RACGP or ACRRM. Strong clinical, interpersonal and teamwork skills with a
commitment to safe and patient-centred health care, ability to work effectively
and culturally safe in remote environments and excellent communication skills

Experience in the desired procedural
specialty, and/or experience in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander health
and living and working in remote or resource-limited settings will be well
