The team at Proserpine Hospital is seeking applications
for a Medical Officer with Private Practice OR a Rural Generalist Medical
Officer with Private Practice to join their team on a Permanent Full Time (80
hrs per f.n.). Part-time applicants
considered.
Mackay Hospital and Health Service
has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health
services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The
district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to
patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville,
Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.

Mandatory
qualifications/Professional registration/Other requirements
- Must have a Fellowship Australian
College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Fellowship Royal Australian
College or General Practitioners +/- Rural Generalist (FRACGP – RG) or
comparability through Competent Authority Pathway from the United Kingdom,
Ireland, New Zealand, USA or Canada.
- At least 3 years’ post graduate
experience is required, with highly developed clinical skills.
- Documented experience of having
worked in a rural environment is preferable.
- Rural generalist skills are required
as this role also entails work in the hospital’s Emergency Department and
general medical wards.
- Completion of the Advanced Skill in
Obstetrics (or equivalent) and be proficient and eligible for credentialing by
the Mackay HHS credentialing committee as a Rural Generalist with Advanced
Skill in Obstetrics
- The applicant must be able to
demonstrate recent clinical practice relevant to the scope of this role,
consistent with the Medical Board of Australia's registration
standards.
