The team at Proserpine Hospital is seeking applications for a GP – Rural Generalist Anaesthetist to join their team on a Permanent Part Time (40 - 56 hrs per f.n).

Your opportunity
Provision, development and maintenance of effective, efficient and suitable clinical services at the Proserpine Hospital and to contribute to the continual upgrading of medical education and dissemination of knowledge to staff and patients. The position will coordinate as necessary with other personnel within the hospital, other hospital services and agencies to ensure optimum patient care, and to ensure integration of services in the wider community.

Mandatory qualifications/Professional registration/Other requirements

  • Must have a Fellowship Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Fellowship Royal Australian College or General Practitioners +/- Rural Generalist (FRACGP – RG) or comparability through Competent Authority Pathway from the United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, USA or Canada.
  • Must hold and maintain Fellowship as a Rural Generalist (FACRRM or FRACGP-RG or RACGP + FRAGP with Advanced Certificate of Rural Generalist Anaesthetics or equivalent.
  •  At least 3 years’ post graduate experience is required, with highly developed clinical skills.
  • Documented experience of having worked in a rural environment is preferable.
  • Appointment as a Rural Generalist (Level 18 – Level 27) or Provisional Fellow (Level 13 – Level 14) will require qualifications awarded by either ACRRM or RACGP in one or more advanced skill disciplines

The applicant must be able to demonstrate recent clinical practice relevant to the scope of this role, consistent with the Medical Board of Australia's registration standards.
