are seeking FRACGP and FACRRM GPs with Emergency Medicine skills to join
Cessnock District Hospital, with appointment options ranging from 6-month
fixed-term contracts to longer-term and permanent quinquennial appointments, as
well as sessional and zero-hour arrangements for those seeking greater
flexibility.
As part of a $138 million hospital
redevelopment, you'll have the unique opportunity to contribute to a service
undergoing significant transformation, including a substantially expanded
Emergency Department, new inpatient accommodation, modern clinical facilities
and enhanced models of care.
About the Role
As a GP VMO, you will:
- Provide inpatient and Emergency
Department medical services.
- Manage acute presentations and
emergencies.
- Participate in after-hours and
on-call arrangements.
- Work collaboratively with an
experienced multidisciplinary team.
- Support continuity of care across
hospital and community settings.
- Maintain a private general practice
alongside the role if desired.

Essential Requirements - Specialist Registration with the Medical Board of Australia & FRACGP or FACRRM.
Recent broad-based General Practice experience - Emergency Life Support training

after-hours and on-call arrangements.
