RURAL GENERALIST / WARD PRACTITIONER LOCUM | ESPERANCE WA | $2,600/DAY
Prescript is seeking an experienced Rural Generalist, GP/ED practitioner or senior hospital doctor for locum blocks at Esperance Health Campus in Western Australia.
This is a broad-scope rural hospital role combining inpatient medicine, admitting responsibility and senior clinical support to the Emergency Department.
THE ROLE
You will work as the Ward Practitioner with responsibilities including:
• Inpatient assessment and management
• Acting as the admitting clinician
• Morning ward rounds
• Senior clinical support to the Emergency Department
• Working collaboratively with nursing, ED and hospital teams
• Participating in on-call as required
Ward rounds are generally 8am to 12pm, with on-call responsibilities around the broader service.

REMUNERATION
• $2,600 per day
• Christmas loading rates to be confirmed
• Rates negotiated in accordance with WACHS locum frameworks
• Travel and accommodation support provided in line with placement arrangements
ABOUT THE ROLE
It is genuine rural hospital medicine, with responsibility for inpatient care and admissions together with senior clinical involvement in the Emergency Department.
The role would suit doctors who enjoy broad-scope rural medicine and are confident working across inpatient and acute care.
WHAT WE REQUIRE
• Current AHPRA registration
• Recent inpatient hospital experience
• Appropriate Emergency Medicine experience
• Confidence managing admissions and ward patients
• Ability to participate in on-call
• Ability to meet WACHS credentialing requirements
