The organisation
The Royal Flying Doctor Service
(South Eastern Section) delivers primary healthcare, aeromedical retrieval,
mental health, dental and emergency services across rural and remote NSW. In Far
West NSW, its primary care services include the Clive Bishop Medical Centre, 12
outreach clinics and telehealth. The opportunity
This role combines hands-on rural
generalist practice with clinical leadership across RFDS primary care services
in Far West NSW.
Based in Broken Hill, you will care for
patients in clinic, outreach and telehealth settings, support local clinicians
as a clinical escalation point, and help strengthen registrar training and
clinical governance. The role is structured around 0.8 FTE
in clinical leadership and service delivery and 0.2 FTE in training, governance
and workforce development. Key
responsibilities: - Deliver comprehensive care across
the Clive Bishop Medical Centre, outreach clinics and telehealth.
- Provide clinical guidance to
colleagues across RFDS primary care services in Far West NSW.
- Supervise GP and Rural Generalist
registrars through RACGP and ACRRM pathways.
- Help develop RFDS’s Rural Generalist
training model and education framework.
About you
You will bring:
- Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM (FACRRM
or FRACGP-RG highly regarded)
- Demonstrated experience delivering
high-quality rural and remote medical care.
- Interest in medical education,
workforce development and rural generalist training.
- Collaborative leadership style with
a commitment to innovation, quality improvement and culturally safe
care.
